“Write what you know….”
“Write from your heart….”
“Follow
your dreams…”
What happens when you write the book of your
dreams, but it doesn't fit the niche market of a
publisher or an agent? Is your only recourse to
resign your dreams to a box in the attic?
Only in the Movies seemed destined
to such a fate until a writer-friend opened the
door to the world of self publishing. During the
months since, Only in the Movies
has evolved from a raw manuscript to a
professionally edited and designed trade
paperback.
An early decision to self publish rather than
enlist a vanity or a subsidy press set me along
a road bordered at every turn with pitfalls and
joys. My presentation, “Sharing the
Journey: The Path to Successful Self
Publication,” lists and extrapolates on
many of these challenges.
Only in the Movies is a story of
love lost and redemption won—a tale to read at
the beach on a sunny afternoon or by the
fireplace on a wintry evening, a tale of spring
awakening and the promise of Christmases to
come.I am available at no charge
for presentations on self publication and/or
signings at libraries, bookstores, specialty
shops, and to book clubs and organizations
within a three-hour radius of Bowling Green Ohio.
With all best wishes,
